Appendix C - MT8001 graphic guidelines

Unless a clear concept is followed, the number of graphic pages required for even
a medium-sized installation can become excessive. Here are some guidelines to
help you achieve the best results:
Use the same graphic for all event categories within the same part of the
building. For example, the same graphic can be used to indicate an Alarm, a
Fault, or an Exclusion, etc in the south wing of the fourth floor. The fact that it is
a Fault, which has occurred, is indicated by the event message itself and by the
color of the dynamic symbol.
Use the graphic to indicate an entire floor (or at least part of it) where the event
has occurred: a separate graphic to pinpoint the room where the event
occurred should be avoided. For example, the fact that the Fault has occurred
in Room 415 is indicated in the event message text itself and by the position of
the colored symbol.
