• Cold weather will reduce the effectiveness of the heart rate sensor.
• A tattoo or other skin covering can block light from the sensor.

Blood pressure sensor (not available in all regions)

Swipe to the blood pressure screen to estimate your
blood pressure.
Before you tap start, sit and relax for a couple of minutes.
Place the sensors on either side of the Leap Ware
between your first and second fingers.
Make sure there is good, but not tight, contact (do not
squeeze) between the inside of your fingers and the
sensors. Do not tense your muscles; keep your arm,
hand and fingers relaxed.
What is blood pressure?
As your heart beats, it pumps blood around your body to transport,
amongst other things, energy and oxygen. As the blood moves, it
pushes against the sides of the blood vessels.
Blood pressure measurement
Blood pressure measures two quantities; the higher
value approximates the pressure needed on an artery to
stop the flow of blood, and the lower value the pressure
at which the flow of blood is no longer detectable. These
values may indicate the condition of your blood vessels.
If the arterial walls are tense and hard, blood flow travels faster and at
a higher pressure. If the arterial walls have less tension blood travels
more slowly and at a lower pressure.
The Leap Ware electrodes measure Pulse Transit Time (PTT); the
time it takes for a pressure wave to travel from the heart to a
peripheral part of the body. This pressure wave travels faster if blood
pressure is high and slower if blood pressure is low.

Readings taken by Leap Ware are to promote a healthy lifestyle, and
should not be used or relied on to diagnose any medical condition or
