sets the SRER to 48 (binary 00110000). This sets the ESB and MAV bits.

might return 32 which indicates that the SRER contains the binary number
00100000.
The STATus:OPERation[:EVENt]? query returns the contents of the OSR
(Operational Status Register).
Executing this command causes the contents of the register to be cleared.
