WARNING Note the safety instructions Operating, servicing, maintaining or installing the SINAMICS DCP may result in property damage, serious injury, and even death if the safety instructions are not observed. You must strictly comply with all notes regarding intended use. Different operating modes, overloads, load cycles, and differing ambient conditions are permitted only after special arrangement with the manufacturer.
  • Page 16 Safety notes DANGER Grounding the SINAMICS DCP High voltages that could cause death or serious injury may be still present in the SINAMICS DCP even after the system has been shut down. Work on the power units is only permitted when steps have been taken to ensure proper grounding.
  • Page 17: Safety Concept

Safety notes 2.1 Safety concept Safety concept The SINAMICS DCP is subject to a comprehensive safety concept which, when properly implemented, ensures safe installation, operation, servicing, and maintenance. The safety concept encompasses safety components and functions to protect the device and operators.

(n-1) cables are required to connect n devices. The bus termination must be activated at the devices at the start of the bus and at the end of the bus (p51805=1).

Servicing SINAMICS DCP devices should only be serviced by personnel from the manufacturer or by Siemens personnel trained by the manufacturer. DANGER Capacitor discharge / dangerous voltages Once the line voltage has been disconnected, voltages that could result in death or serious injury are still present in the SINAMICS DCP.

    ● Carry out a POWER OFF. Remove the memory card from the SINAMICS DCP. NOTICE If the memory card is not removed from the SINAMICS DCP before the POWER ON, the parameterization in the SINAMICS DCP is copied to the memory card during ramp-up, or a parameterization already on the card copied to the SINAMICS DCP.

Pollutant-free materials have been used for all significant parts. Insulation materials containing silicone are not used. Materials containing halogens are only present to a slight extent (cable insulation) in the SINAMICS DCP. All materials meet ROHS criteria. Environmental compatibility was a key criterion in selecting supplier parts.
