RPTU Overview

The RPTU1F provides an ISDN 30 (I421), compatible interface. This unit supports
connection of one physical ISDN30 circuit, (One circuit can have up to a maximum of 12 B-
Channels and 1- D Channel). The unit has an RJ45 type socket which the network operator
uses to terminate the ISDN 30 (I421) circuit supplied. This interface was designed to be
connected to the "T" reference points as designated in ITU recommendation I411 and as
supplied by most Network operators. The interface supports the ETSI version of Q931
signalling commonly referred to as "Euro-ISDN".

Slot Assignments

Up to one RPTU PCB can be installed in a DK40 system providing up to a maximum of 12
PRI lines (B-channels). If the RPTU (PRI) and any combination of TCOU, PCOU, RBSU
(TE), TBSU (TE), PEMU or PACU PCBs are installed in the same DK40, the maximum
combined number of exchange lines must not exceed 12. The RPTU PCB may only be
installed in Slots 15 or 17 of the DK40 Expansion KSU. The next highest slot adjacent to the
RPTU slot must be vacant.
All other line PCB's (TBSUs (TE), RBSUs (TE), TCOU, PCOUs, PEMUs and PACUs) must
be installed in lower slot numbers that the RPTU PCB.
Important! Toshiba strongly recommend that the RPTU PCB is installed in Slot 17.
Note
Program 03, code 76 designates which cabinet slot contains the RPTU PCB.

The RPTU can only be installed in the Expansion KSU Cabinet.
Table 3-12
lists the functions for each LED.
If the RPTU PCB is installed in slot 15 and there are no line interface PCB's
installed in the Base KSU, the RPTU will automatically assign lines 001 ~ 012. Any
further line interface PCB's installed into the Expansion KSU (slots 17 ~18) would
not be recognised by the DK40 system.
