16.1.2 User Function 1 - Local Keyboard Test

User function 1 can be used as a local test to ensure that all the
keyboard's LEDs and switches are in working order. This
function will also automatically calibrate the center position of
the analog joystick on LTC 8552/00, LTC 8553/00, and
LTC 8555/00 type keyboards. Upon entering this test, the
keyboard will beep and all the LEDs will light for about two
seconds. The USER should note if there are any LED failures
during this time.
Each key may be pressed to display a unique code number
associated with of that key. Follow the table below to ensure that
all keys are properly being processed by the keyboard. Values for
LTC 8550/00, LTC 8551/00, LTC 8552/00, and LTC 8553/00
type keyboards are listed in column "A". Values for LTC
8554/00 and LTC 8555/00 type keyboards are listed in column
"B". Push the USER key last, as this will cause the keyboard to
exit from the test mode.
If the log-on system feature has been selected by the system
installer, the same local test may be initiated while the keyboard is
not "ON LINE" by pressing the "*" key.

16.1.4 User Function 3 - Select Keyboard Beeper ON/OFF
When user function 3 is selected, the keyboard user may enable
or disable the keyboard audio beeper. After entering user function
3, press ON to enable the beeper or OFF to disable it. Press
USER to exit. Note that this setting will automatically be set to
ON upon power up of the keyboard and whenever the Allegiant
system undergoes a reset.
16.1.5 User Function 4 - Adjust Position of Monitor Overlay
User function 4 allows the characters on the video monitor display
to be positioned from the keyboard. Only the display on the
monitor the keyboard is currently 'connected' to will be effected.
After entering user function 4, use the joystick to position the
display as required. Press ENTER to store the position. Press
USER to exit.
16.1.6 User Function 5 - Monitor Display
Brightness / Status Selection
The white portion of the characters on the video monitor display
may be made brighter or dimmer by the user 5 feature. Only the
display on the monitor the keyboard is currently 'connected' to
will be effected. After entering the mode, there are four possible
settings; moving the joystick up will increase the brightness and
moving the joystick down will decrease the brightness.
The user 5 mode also permits selection of either the 'status'
display or a 12 character 'monitor message' to appear in the first
line of the monitor display. The 'status' display will indicate
alarm, sequence, and lockout information regarding the monitor.
The 'monitor message' is a stationary display. This means the
display will not change as the video is switched from camera to
camera on the monitor. After entering the mode, moving the
joystick left will select the 'monitor message' format and moving
the joystick right will select the 'status' format. To exit the mode,
press USER.
16.1.7 User Function 6 - Select Monitor Display Option
The user 6 mode allows the user to remove the time & date, the
left side portion of the display, or to remove the entire display
from the individual monitor. After entering the mode, moving
the joystick down will blank the time & date from the screen.
This is sometimes desirable when a VCR with its own time &
date is being used. Moving the joystick up will add the time &
date back again.
Moving the joystick left will blank the left side portion of the
display from the monitor and moving right will return it. Refer
to user mode 5 to verify brightness level. Press USER to exit
the mode.
16.1.8 User Function 7 - Set Time
User mode 7 enables the operator to set the time as displayed on
all the monitors in the system. After entering the mode, the
joystick is used to select hours, minutes, or seconds in an edit line
displayed on the monitor screen. Moving the joystick up or down
counts the data item up or down while moving right or left selects
between data items. The NEXT key is used to set the seconds to
zero. If NEXT is pressed when the seconds are over 30, the
minute count (shown on the operating clock display) is
incremented. If NEXT is pressed when the seconds are under 30,
the minutes are left unaffected. Pressing ENTER updates the time
displayed on all system monitors. Press USER to exit the mode.
