On the System Properties window, click the Device Manager tab.

Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers branch and see if there is an entry for
USB Composite Device. Windows 98 Second Edition may also have two entries
listed as SB4100 USB Cable Modem under Other Devices. Windows 98 may list
two entries as Unknown Devices under Other Devices. These additional entries
are automatically removed when the USB Composite Device is removed.

Highlight the USB Composite Device and click Remove.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: After removal of the USB Composite Device, remove the
USB cable from the SB4200 and reboot your computer. Follow the installation
instructions starting on page 10 of this User Guide to reinstall the SB4200 USB drivers.
