Answer reception

Use this mode if you want to receive both phone messages and faxes while
you are away. (Connect an answering
machine to the SFX-11 through the line
cord supplied with the SFX-11 or by the SANYO Dealer.)

The telephone
rings
according
on the answering
machine.
When an incoming
fax signal is
switches to the receiving
mode.
When
a phone
call is received,
to the
amount
of rings
selected
received,
the SFX-ll
automatically
the built-in
phone
rings and the

connected
answering
machine
plays your announcement
and then
takes messages.
The SFX-ll
can receive a fax after the answering
machine
plays
the announcement
if the caller is trying to send a fax manually.
(If there is no voice signal for 6 seconds, the SFX-11 automatically
switches
over to the fax receiving
mode and sends a fax signal
to the caller.)
Be sure to advise callers in your announcement
that fax reception
takes place after the message.
Example:
Please begin fax transmission
when you hear the tone
following
this message.

The answering
machine
must be set to answer
a call within
11 rings.
(If the telephone
is allowed to ring more than 11 times, the SFX-11 switches
to fax receiving
mode.)
Automatic switching
may not function properly on certain answering
systems.
Remote
retrieval
of answering
machine
messages
is not available
in
"ANSWER",
use "MANUAL".
